“What is the significance of illusions to Paradise Lost in Frankenstein?”

The story of Paradise Lost is the same as that found in The Bible. It is the story of Adam and Eve how they were created and how they lost their place in the Garden of Eden. Paradise Lost highlights the idea that humanity does not produce perfect, moral humans. There are many significant illusions and similarities between the two texts Frankenstein and Paradise Lost. For instance, the common traits which both the Creature and Satan possess, the fact that Victor is a God like figure, and the similar instances of characters turning from good to evil.

Frankenstein is the story of a Creator, Victor Frankenstein and his Creation the Creature/Monster, just as Paradise Lost is the story of a Creator, God, who is frustrated by the Evil, Satan.

In Paradise Lost Satan is a much more complex and developed character than God as is the Creature/Monster than Victor in Frankenstein. The Creatures speech is extremely gripping to the reader, just as Satan’s is to the reader as well as Eve. Sat...
