“The most effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people is through the use of image, not language.”

Although image may have a few advantages in some public communication situations, language has some features which make it a more effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people.
Admittedly, in some cases, image has the advantages of being easier to understand and more impressive, for example, a valentine token might be more manifest and moving than the10 pages of a love letter; a picture of two contrasting colorful columns might be more effective to express the meaning of “the sales volume of this year is much higher that that of last year.” This is why we often use some figures and tables as a supplementary way in our presentations.
