“Reunion”
A point of view interpretation
Not seeing my father for three years led me to imagine all the possibilities of his character. I pictured him perfect, with an outstanding career, people who admire him, and busy schedules every day. I was sure my daddy was just too busy to have to worry about me – that is until I met him and got a first hand look at how he really was.
Barging through the crowds at Grand Central Station, I knew my father couldn’t wait to be with me. Even though he is extremely busy, I knew he would make time for lunch with me. I couldn’t wait to see where he would take me to get started on the wonderful “catching up” we would do.
As we sat down at that first restaurant I thought that my father was so cosmopolitan to shout for the waiter’s attention. I really wished that I had a camera and that the waiter or another patron would take a picture of my Dad...
