“One of the most significant events in the book is the bombing of the Broome harbour” Discuss

During the chapter the Divine Wind the characters face issues regarding their relationships with each other, which are brought to the surface during the dramatic event of the bombing of the harbour. Issues that have been escalating through the previous chapters confront most of the characters involved. Jamie and Hart’s competitive friendship is tested. Questions regarding racism through the book continue as Mitsy is discriminated against for being Japanese.
