“Actions speak louder than words.” Discuss the implications of this statement with reference to your study of topics and/or literary texts.

Mahatma Gandhi once said “an ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching." He stands before us as one of the prime examples of the title; actions speak louder than words. He managed to drive the British Empire, which was abusing his country, out of India simply by using non-violent approaches. He would let the soldiers attack him and his followers, and threatened to starve himself if the violence didn’t stop. It should be said that he also had great wisdom, and held some powerful speeches. But he knew that action would forever speak louder than any word he would utter.
One find similar cases in literature. The book „Pride and Prejudice“ (Jane Austen) and the play „The Shadow of a Gunman“ (O’Casey) displays examples of the very same. However, their exemplifications are a little bit different.
In „Pride and Prejudice“ (from now on P&P) the character that embodies the strong ness of action mostly is Mr Darcy. He is a man of silence, who doesn’t give away...
