1984 As An AP Book

George Orwell’s 1984 is a true masterpiece; there are so many aspects of literature and human emotion that make Orwell’s novel a true classic. Orwell’s novel has so many different unique characteristics that separate it from other works. The sheer brilliance of human emotion and diction that makes the reader believe a government take over is possible; along with allowing him/her to have different perspectives on an event all contribute to 1984’s compelling story and classic use of humanism.
Unlike other books designated as AP or “Masterpiece” 1984 offers a very unique experience. 1984 strays away from the true and tried formula of “my childhood was very traumatic, here is it”. In doing so it offers a much more interesting reading experience. 1984 allows the reader to imagine a horrific future world in which the principle of Democracy or other free government has fallen, and totalitarianism has risen to dominate.
