Wuthering Heights critical review

Catherine and Heathcliff’s twisted relationship adds to the plot of an already gothic novel, Wuthering Heights. Emily Bronte, author of Wuthering Heights, chooses to make the love between Catherine and Heathcliff so strong that it does not exist in life. Their love is also the opposite of love conceived as social and conventional acceptance among society. Agreeing with critic Clifford Collins, Catherine and Heathcliff’s love is an ideal relationship which does not exist in life, and that their love is opposite to social conventions.
