Witchcraft and Reality

During the birth of America there were many different societies of people. Some of these included the Quakers, the Pilgrims, the Puritans and various other minor societies. These groups all helped to build a foundation for America. Each society believed in a way of life, and they lived accordingly. One may believe that the Puritans were hypocrites because of their witchcraft accusations.
The puritans were a very distinct society that lived a strict religious life. They believed they were chosen by God for a special purpose on Earth; they were a gift from God. Most Puritans feared God, therefore they lived to please him.
Puritans avoided all things that were luxurious of showy. Entertainment such as parties or dancing was forbidden. Many created their

own entertainment. At funerals gifts would be exchanged along with the enjoyment of food and drink.
