Write about a poem that you have studied and explain what you found interesting about it

The poem that I have studied is ‘Wind’ by Ted Hughes. This poem is about
a heartless force which clash’s into a house in a remote area. The poet is giving us a point of view, from the owners which are trapped inside. What I found interesting was that the poet uses simple & effective techniques to describe the force of the wind. It makes the reader see that we can never underestimate the forces of nature.

At the beginning of the poem the poet uses a metaphor to describe what it
is like if you were entrapped inside of a tornado. “This house has been far out at sea all night”. Also the poet uses personification to describe the winds power against nature. “The woods crashing through darkness, the booming hills, winds stampeding the fields under the window “.
