Would Machiavelli’s political philosophy be a workable strategy in the 21st century?

Machiavelli’s political philosophy would not be a workable strategy in the 21st century. To begin with, it is obvious that in the book The Prince, it portrays how killing should be a big factor in gaining power in a state, government or even a country. Here in the 21st century you should not resort to killing as a way to control. It is both morally and ethically wrong because, we as humans should not kill other fellow humans just to satisfy you greed. If this happens, then it will cause a chain reaction and fairly soon a whole war will begin. His doctrines on being evil to gain authority are very clear and say that you need to be wicked to assume control. There are laws preventing from this to happen in the 21st century. However, there are a few cases where this has happened. For instance, in Iraq Saddam Hussein had to kill people that were in his way of becoming a dictator. ...
