World Religions

One of the many religions of the world is Hinduism. Hinduism is a religious tradition of Indian origin, containing the beliefs and practices of Hindus. Hindus themselves prefer to use the Sanskrit word “sanatana dharma” for their religious tradition. Sanskrit is the sacred language of Hindu scripture. Hindus refer to their god as Brahman. In the Hindu tradition there is no single revelation or established doctrine by which people may gain knowledge of the divine or lead a life based on religious law. The Hindu tradition acknowledges that there are many paths by which people may seek and experience religious understanding and direction. It also claims that every person can achieve enlightenment. Hinduism has searched to recognize principles and practices that would lead any person to become a better human being and understand and live in harmony with dharma.
