Work certainly affects academic performance. As a student, education should be the first priority. In addition to hours spent in the classroom, students need time for preparation for their courses. A part time job affects a student’s academic performance because f the lack of time for review and homework, out of class. Overall performance is also poor as a result of less time for classes. The more hours one works, the less time remains for academics.
This is an interesting question because a strong belief in either direction will lead to a student to either go to CEGEP without having a part-time job or being quite active in their work. A student who completes CEGEP with a diploma in hand and without having to work a part-time job is what seems most ideal. The next step is to go head fist into the career of your dreams.
