Do you know the power you possess?
Have you any idea at all?
Just one word uttered from you lips,
And all my barriers fall.

A tender word is like a caress,
It soothes and comforts me so.
"Hi beautiful, how is your day?"
Means more than you can know.

I dont know what your special gift is,
Or how you cast your spell,
But I am caught up in its web
Is that so hard to tell?

The weight your words carry amazes me.
A few simple words can make my heart sing,
And carry me through the whole day.
That is the joy they can bring.

A harsh word closes me down.
It makes me feel dead inside,
But a kind word spoken from you
And all is forgotten and I no longer hide.

Your words have made me blossom.
They have allowed me to open my heart.
But they can also wound me deeply,
And push us so far apart.

I know that you love me,
