Women’s rights: Finding a niche
Men and women have not been treated equally since the beginning of time. After the sin of Adam and Eve, women were placed in an inferior position to men. Their role was to raise the children and serve their husbands. Women were not allowed to speak without being spoken to. In some cultures a woman could not show any part of her body besides her eyes. Women were not allowed to be educated or go to college, in past centuries, because women were perceived only as housewives. They were not allowed to vote for our country’s leaders, as if they were incapable of making logical decisions. Whose right was it to say that women had to be suppressed in this way? No individual man holds this power. Despite the difficult past, female discrimination has decreased drastically in recent years.
