Women in the U.S. Senate
Recently I visited the Women’s Museum at Fair Park in Dallas. I took particular interest in the Changing the Face of Power: Women in the U.S. Senate Exhibit. This exhibit was sponsored by the center for American History at UT Austin. It contained many black and white photographs of current and former female Capitol Hill lawmakers, courtesy of photojournalist Melina Mara. The struggles of females to gain power in politics have lead to controversy with many Americans. Many Americans feel that women have no place in the U.S. Senate. I feel that women are not as capable of making life-altering decisions as men are and being able to live with them. I think that women have no place in the United States government.
Women in today’s society are more carefree and to self absorbed to be lawmakers or world leaders. I think that more women are more worried about going to the mall and getting their nails done than world issues. In a recent study, wom...
