Women in 1900s
Women in the 1900s led hard-working, stressful lives. They did not have nearly as many rights as we do in today’s modern society, and they had many expectations to follow.
In the 1930s, women were known as potential wives, home-workers and child-bearers. They had few rights and we only allowed to have children in a marriage situation. Women were employed in such jobs as nurses, teachers and secretaries. They were expected to stop work when they were married. They bore few problems, but one was that they couldn’t really study beyond school.
