Wolfs in Yellowstone

My name is Jeff Bergevin and I am doing my topic on the conflict with wolves in Yellowstone. We have all herd about the bear attacks on humans in the campgrounds, but how soon will it be when wolves do the same thing. Wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone in 1995. Wolves were believed to have been in the in the area as long as nine hundred and sixty years ago. But in the early 1900’s the government decided to kill all the wolves because they were killing too much game. The last wolf was shot in 1926.The gray wolf was captured in Canada. When they were brought to the park they were held in one-acre sanctuaries for several months before they were set loose. The cost to reintroduced was one million dollars.
Wolves are very social animals. They live in families called packs, which hunt and travel together. There is a pair in the pack called the alpha pair. This pair is the most powerful in the pack. This pair will mate for live. The female will have ...
