wolfgang Borchert: "mein bleicher Bruder"

I had to do a little poetry explication on the poem, so maybe it might help people think of their own ideas.
“Chicago” Carl Sandburg True to recent poetry, “Chicago” jumps out as an expression with detailed metaphors linked to the main idea of discussing one thing and referring it to another. In one of Sandburg’s better bits, he uses classic devices such as metaphor, shown in the whole opening paragraph, as well as simile, “Fierce as a dog with tongue lapping for action, cunning as a savage pitted against the wilderness,” (line 14). His personification of chicago as a young man so vibrant and ready to go out to the club seems as if Chicago is the place where he feels most happy and full of life himself.
