Winter

Winters in the northeast are desolate and cause a sense of depression. The landscape is stripped of most life. The chimney smoke is the only object that keeps houses from looking abandoned. The frigid cold makes participating in winter sports exceptional.
The early morning sun no longer warms the earth’s surface. The sky is gray and not a single cloud is in sight. Crystal white snow covers the ground like a quilt to keep the grass warm. The scattered trees look lonely against the bleak and barren landscape. They occasionally dance in the ribbons of steel breath-taking wind. The mountains seem bigger than ever, casting shadows that engulf the entire landscape. All the bushes are bare and covered by frosty cobwebs, made the busy early morning spiders. Calling winter geese stride away. Herds of deer wander aimlessly searching for protection and food. The fields don’t contain cows. They are in the barn for the winter to prevent them from getting stuck in the snow ...
