Every sports-crazed child has dreamed of winning a championship. They imagine life being a champion and adding to the cause of their team success. It is only natural for a child to dream of success in whatever he does. Growing up playing baseball I had the same ambition to become a champion. Beginning in little league and continuing all the way through high school, I excelled in sports, but it wasn¡¯t until my senior year in high school that I really felt like a champion. The El Segundo Baseball Tournament is prestigious, and considered an honor to be invited to play. Teams from all over Southern California were invited to play, including my baseball team from Arcadia. Pressure build up from game to game in the tournament brackets. Everyday a new loser was sent home in a gut wrenching defeat. After one week of tenacious play only two teams remained. The Arcadia and Crespi baseball teams were to face each other in the championship.
