Wilmot’s Satire Against Reason and Mankind

According to Wilmot, man derives power from his unmatched ability to reason and understand nature. Man believes he is all powerful, more powerful than any beast or other living being. In man’s eyes, he has ascended from his humble beginnings as simple hunters and gatherers to build great, “advanced” civilizations, due to his ownership of reasoning and his understanding and conquering of what he thinks nature to be.
