“Heroes are created by popular demand, sometimes out of the scantiest materials.” Societies with serious problems of any kind need heroes and they do create them, while societies with smaller problems create just superstars. For instance, in the Middle East a hero is a fearless, tireless savior most of the time. In Europe intelligent and efficient people in different jobs and positions are considered as heroes, while in the Untied States of America a rich, good-looking, successful athlete or movie star makes easily a superstar who could be mistaken with a hero.
