wilfred owen poetry

Wilfred Owen was born and brought up in Oswestry, Shropshire in England on March the 18th 1893. He started writing poems from a fairly young age after failing to get into university. He then went and obtained a job working for a vicar and then as an english teacher in France. Most of Owens first poems were written in the homoerotic tradition, and he based most of his poems on the relgion of his upbringing combined with the homoertic tradition. Wilfred Owen had quite an interest in erotic stories with young boys so in a lot of his poems he wrote about how beautiful naked dead young boys were. And it was through war poetry that he was acceptabaly able to write about his feelings for young men.
He first started to write war poetry after becoming an officer in the war in 1916. He remained an officer until 1917 when he was sent home after suffering from shellshock. It was here in the hospital in Edinburg that Owen met the bisexual war poet Siegfried Sassoon and was encouraged by...
