why vegan?

For years and years the transformation of animals into food has been killing animals. I believe it is industrialized cruelty of factory farming. The competition to produce inexpensive meat, eggs, and dairy products has led to animal agribusiness to treat animals as objects and commodities. Large warehouses confine animals in crowded cages or pens or in resctrictive stalls.
Birds get thier beaks cut off with hot blades, causing pain for weeks. Hens, packed into cages, usually suffer and die from immobilization and dehydration.
