Why Oedipus fell victim to his tragic fate

The most important key leading to Oedipus¡¦ tragedy is his weakness of impetuous character. After Oedipus was told he would kill Father and marry Mother, he escaped from Corinth to avoid Apollo¡¦s oracle. When coming to three-road met, Oedipus met Laios. Laios¡¦ cart driver asked Oedipus to let them pass firs, but Oedipus his request. When arguing, Laios¡¦ striking Oedipus with his staff made him irritated. As a result, with great anger and out of control Oedipus killed Laios. If Oedipus had not gotten so angry and had dealt with the old man gently and let them had gone first, he would have not killed Laios.
