Why Macbeth is a tragic figure

. Macbeth is written by William Shakespeare which is a play is about a man whose ambition to become king drives him to commit a series of acts that eventually leads to his downfall. A tragic figure is a hero which gets caught up in a sequence of events that inevitably results in his downfall. The hero has some tragic flaw, a character weakness, which helps to bring about his downfall and has ordinary human qualities. Macbeth’s tragic flaw is his ambition and greed to become king.
