why is college important

Born and raised in New York City I have always had the desire to learn about other cultures and the lifestyles of those who have grown up in other parts of the U.S. and world. I believe going away to college will provide me with the opportunity and experience of establishing life long friendships with those whom I study and live with. In addition to developing a support system outside of my family and community in New York, college will allow me to take my education to a higher level.
