Why I Should Own A Pet

I have been questioning why kids should have pets. Many people have pets and I always wondered why family did not have any. I had asked my parents once, but they said right away that I would not be able to care for one. One time, I had went over my friend’s house and played with his dog. Having a dog seems like fun when you are bored. My friend and I try to come up with good reasons to convince my parents to let me have one.
A dog could have helped me become more responsible. My parents complained that I can not even keep my room clean, much less a dog. A room could be left unclean and it would not affect the rest of the household. However, leaving a dog all filthy will cause the rest of my family to face the consequences.
