Why I'm in college

Ever since I was four years old, I have always wanted to become a veterinarian, or, as I used to call it, a dog doctor. Growing up, I was not like my peers who wanted to be something different every week. I can vividly remember the hot summer days when “Dr. Stephanie” would see her patients, the neighborhood stuffed animals diagnosing all of their ailments, and even at times performing dangerous life threatening procedures. I have never steered away from my goals of becoming a veterinarian. I have only changed my area of specialization from wanting to work on the types of animals that they keep in a zoo, to wanting work on companion animals.
Then I got older and reality started to sink in, I could not go to any school in the world and become a veterinarian, because, after thorough research I discovered that there were only twenty seven schools of veterinary medicine in the United States.
