Why The Drinking Age Should Be Lowered

The drinking age should be lowered and young adults should be allowed to consume alcohol in controlled environments such as restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. People today deserve the right to make responsible choices independently and educational programs and role models can help do this. Restricting the consumption of alcohol increases disobedience and theft among society; however, lowering the drinking age can reduce this. This suggestion will not drastically harm society, but rather keep underage drinking supervised and controlled.
