Why Do We Play Sport?

Why do we play sport? Recreations, fitness, to be with friends, meet new people? Have professional sports people to far away from this. Do they really deserve the big money to play sports?
The feeling is in a lot of circles that it is all business now a day and you would be hard pressed to find a professional sports person who is out there because they love the game, don't get me wrong there still out there but they seem to be a dying breed.
