Why do people pretend to be something they are not

Why do people appear to be something they’re not? Does it make them feel better about themselves or does it make them have something to hide behind? The population of today has drastically changed from being the honest, full-hearted, loving people to being people who lie, cheat and are dishonorable. Why do we believe what others say, and why do their thoughts change ours?

Appearance is something we can see and we can be made to believe. It hides us from reality which many people don’t want to see or know. Appearance and reality are greatly connected as what people see is what they believe. Consequently their beliefs become their reality. People of today can appear to be nice and loveable, when really they are depressed and lonely. To appear to be something your not helps people get through rough times, it helps them seek out a new way to start their lives.
