Why a Graduate Degree?
Due to the technological upheaval of the last two decades it has become more and more obvious that the competition is becoming quite stiff in terms of career advancement and career security leading thereby to a series of questions as to what really is the solution for it, is it on the job training, experience or education. Here getting a degree is related to getting knowledge at least in the sense that one can perform whatever activity you are indulging in, in a better way. Knowledge of course doesn’t necessarily guarantee wisdom but may open a path to become wiser then before. Acquiring knowledge can be done in many ways like reading books, hearing, seeing, researching, studying, etc. There are at least two schools of thoughts and it is quite obvious what they are, one is to be completely ignorant like in the quote “Ignorance is Bliss” and like Oscar Wilde in one of his famous dramatic works The Importance of being Earnest has Lady Bracknell say “I do n...
