Why 21?

When a person turns eighteen many things happen to them; they graduate from high school, can buy tobacco products, die for their country, become a legal adult, vote, and buy adult pornography. One thing they cannot do is legally drink, the drinking age is set at twenty-one for many reasons, most people don’t understand. The argument deals with people saying that they can do all the actions listed above but, can’t go into a store and buy alcohol. Most young adults under the age of twenty-one don’t agree with the law and believe that the drinking age should be changed to eighteen. The government has many reasons to keep the drinking age at twenty-one, which include: the undeveloped mind and body of the young adult, the long-term effects of drinking, and the abuse of alcohol by irresponsible people. Due to the many negative effects that alcohol has on young adults the government has kept the drinking age at 21, where it should stay.
