Who Was The No Name Woman?

The no name woman was the aunt of Maxine Hong Kingston. Kingston’s Mother tells her a story of an aunt who brought shame to the family because she did not fallow Chinese tradition. Her mother tells her never to mention this aunt again after this and Maxine disobeys her. She did not want to join in her family’s punishment. So she wrote this story, even though she did she still could not change the pressure, the tradition, and the violence passed generation to generation. She only could write this story silently instead of telling it. Her Aunt was still nameless in the family’s memory. Being her aunt’s voice, she wanted to protest...
