Who?s Responsible Here?
As participants in a representative democracy we look to our representatives to act in the interests of their constituents and in accord with their wishes. When selecting a representative, constituents seek out candidates who are trustworthy, qualified, and committed to providing the strong leadership that constituents expect and deserve. As constituents, we send our representatives to Congress with the expectation that they will be an agent of the constituency and exemplify accountability and accessibility to their districts and community.
Members of the House and the Senate put forth an effort to identify with their constituents and focus on establishing a connection with them and a presence in their communities.
