White Oleander


Astrid is a young girl who hasn't had easy life. Ingrid, her mother, was never there for her daughter, concentrating on making art and leaving the free life. Things only get worse when Ingrid poisons her cheating boyfriend with a white oleander flower. This sends her straight to prison, leaving Astrid without a home. Sent to a care center, Astrid begins her trek from foster home to foster home, meeting some very interesting characters. Through it all, she maintains contact with her mother, who sits behind bars. Astrid changes emotionally and physically as she moves place to place, including the home of a hypocritical Christian woman and a Hollywood couple. By way of her journeys she learns about love through a unique friend, and comes close to losing her life.
