How far were they justified?

After the First World War, all the other countries that had been involved against Germany decided that a peace meeting needed to be held to decide what to do with Germany.
The meeting was held in Versailles, France, and twenty-seven countries were represented. Germany was not invited. The main leaders – known as “the big three”- were Lloyd George (England), Clemenceau (France), and Wilson (America). They all had very different ideas to how the Treaty should be made. Woodrow Wilson already had an idea of how it should be solved, which was called “The Fourteen Point Plan”. This included- No Secret Treaties, Disarment, Independence for Belgium, and for France to regain Alcase-Lorraine. Wilson believed Germany should be punished, but not too harshly.
