What We Talk About When We Talk About Love

Love is looked at by every person differently. To some it’s just a word. But to most it’s a deep emotional feeling that is indescribable. Sometimes love may start out as a word and turn into a feeling of need for the person. Love is a real thing, but not real to everyone until they have experienced it. In this story every character has found love and is discussing the may different ways it can be shown.
In this first quote Terri describes what tough love is all about. “He beat me up one night. He dragged me around the living room by my ankles. He kept saying, ‘I love you, I love you, you bitch.’ He went on dragging me around the living room. My head kept knocking on things.” This is one kind of love that not many people would like to encounter. The kind that makes someone scared to even love back.
