What Veterans Day Means To Me

A playboy of the Jazz era, F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote about the ambitions and great possibilities of the 1920s. Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda often traveled throughout the United States and Europe. He became friends with other great authors of his time such as Earnest Hemmingway. Though he wrote about wealth and the responsibilities that accompany it, he was unable to manage his own income.

Frances Scott Fitzgerald was born on September 24, 1896. Fitzgerald was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota (Coale 190). He was named for his cousin three times removed, Frances Scott Key, the author of the “Star Spangled Banner”. Fitzgerald was the only child of Edward and Mary McQuillan Fitzgerald.
