What makes popular students popular? What makes unpopular people unpopular? Is it important to be popular? Why or why not? Have your views on popularity changed as you've gotten older? In what ways and why?

When I was in primary school, I was always picked on by the popular kids. I though that if I became friends with them, they would lay off and quit humiliating me in front of everyone. I was wrong though because the harder you tried to be in their crowd, the harder it was to be friends with them. They played games with you and made you feel less than a person. That is why I think that it is very unimportant to be accepted.

When people become popular, it is usually because they are accepted by a whole bunch of other students in their school. They all wear the latest clothing, which is rubbed in people's faces who either can't afford it, or who don't fully like the style.
