What makes a good language teacher?

To learn a foreign language is not an easy task, and both adults and children find it very difficult and sometimes stressing. To make this experience much more enjoyable, it is important that the person who is in charge of the teaching be a good teacher. But the question is: What makes a good language teacher? Is it the method she or he applies?
Is it her/his personality, her/his physical appearance or her/his knowledge about the language?

The first item to take into account is the methodology teachers apply in the classroom. First of all, they should provide the students with a varied and exciting activities. That is to say, teachers should plan the activities having in mind the different abilities, interests and learning styles of the learners in order to get them involved during the lessons.
