What Made Abraham Lincoln Famous?


Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Hodgenville, Kentucky. He was born on February 12 1809 to Thomas and Nancy Hanks Lincoln. He moved to Indiana in 1816 and to Illinois in 1830 where he had quite a few jobs. Though mostly self-taught, he practiced law in Springfield, Illinois and served in the state legislature. In 1849 he became one of the state’s most successful lawyers, known for his honesty, earning the nickname “Honest Abe”.
