What is the point of uniforms?

Why do we need a school uniform? It does not make us a better student, it does not improve our English, math’s or science abilities, it does not make us run faster or jump higher, all it does is make us look ridiculous. No matter what the schools do, put us in uniforms or without uniform we will still not dress the right way. Of course someone will get punished for not wearing the right polo t-shirt or the black McCarthy pants. It’s not fair because the principles of the schools can’t tell us how to dress. We should be able to wear what ever we want. We kids like to be our self and not look the same as other kids. We like to be different and stand out from each other individually. Yes, uniforms make us look more proper then our normal everyday clothes and make us kids look smarter and more mature but it’s not nice for people to misjudge us either.
Why can't schools run their own uniform shops? Then parents could sell items as their children grow out of them and buy used u...
