what is psychology

Psychology is what scientists and philosophers of various persuasions have created to try and fulfill the need to understand the minds and behaviours of various organisms from the most primitive to the most complex. Psychology has very few boundaries and, aside from the limitations of science and ethics, it should not have any imposed by either critics or practitioners. Psychology, as a widely-disciplined subject, has many areas of study and application:

Cinical Psychology: the area of psychology concerned with aberrant, maladaptive or abnormal human behaviour

Cognitive Psychology: a general approach to psychology emphasizing the internal mental processes

Community Psychology: where a psychological practitioner works in a variety of ways with a community
