From the 1st soliloquy we are to study, we can learn a great deal of Hamlet’s character, his state of mind and his intentions… Hamlet is described thought out the progression of the play as being a daring, brave, loyal, and intelligent figure, but he is consumed by his own thoughts.
In the soliloquy “To be, or not to be, that is the question…” Hamlet is contemplating death. He is outwardly thinking about taking his own life, to rid himself of these terrible thoughts. Should he persist in his quest to avenge his fathers’ death? Or should be done with it all, and end the misery that has becomes his life?
