Factually, there were two main problems in Athens then. The first problem was the large amount of political parties. The second problem was an inequali
ty of people.
The amount of political parties was really big one party for one region. The party of the Men of the Mountains was democratic. The party of the Men o
f the Plains was aristocratic. And the party of the Men of the Coast, being a mix of the first two parties, was just a barrier for both of them, so that neit
her could gain significant power.
Another, more important, problem was the inequality between poor and rich people. Actually, all the population was in debt of the rich. People were alm
ost enslaved.
