"I'm going on a diet." How often have you casually tossed around these five
words” (Pettiford 339)? People want to know how to lose weight. Dieters read magazines, newspapers, watch television and sign up on weight loss programs just to try to find the right way or quickest way to lose weight. Most Americans are so intelligent, so why is it that they can’t lose weight? The question today is “How do you lose the weight and keep it off?” “The number of obese Americans has grown by nearly 50% in the past decade” (Pettiford 339). That’s why people try to find different ways to lose weight and many of them are just lazy and don’t want to change their eating habits. Dieters desperate to lose weight read magazines and books that say to either diet or exercise. Diet and exercising are the two main ways of losing weight. However, you have to lose weight in a healthy manner. Weight loss is what everyone talks about and wants to know, how did she or he lose the weight? ...
