Walt Whitman
According to Ezra Pound in his critical essay titled Walt Whitman, he believes that Whitman is one of the only conventionally recognized “American Poets” who is worth reading. Pound initially comes off with the notion that Whitman is an idol in his eyes, yet makes odd comments throughout the essay, “He is an exceedingly nauseating pill, but he accomplishes his mission” (Pound 8).
