Voting and It's Importance

Do you know the definition of “vote”? As stated in the New Merriam-Webster dictionary: vote is to choose or have one’s own opinion. The first amendment gave us the freedom of speech. Most countries don’t have this luxury like we do. We need to take advantage and do something with this lavishness. Voting is in a way is silent speech of freedom. I’m not saying that you have to vote, but there is no reason to make excuses for not doing it. These are some of the reasons why half our country doesn’t vote.

Some excuses that I’ve heard on why they don’t want to vote are just plain ridiculous. There are some legitimate excuses out there but its all-just excuses. Some people believe in apathy and there are others that say they are just plain lazy. Some people’s religion can’t let them vote. Most people don’t even know how to register and when the next primary and election is. The...
